ELEVATE was established in January of 2022 by Columbus, Ohio business owner, financial adviser, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^TM, Chartered Market Technician, and Certified Exit Planning Advisor,  Adam Koós, CFP®, CMT, CFTe, CEPA.

After spending his childhood idolizing his father, who was also a successful business owner and Optometrist in the Cleveland area, he followed in his dad’s footsteps to The Ohio State University, was recruited by a national brokerage firm in 2001, and started his company in 2004 at 25 years of age.

As a direct result of his deep passion for entrepreneurialism, Adam felt that the business community was missing something crucial – something instrumental to each owner’s and CEO’s long-term success, not to mention the success of their families at home – and what was this lost secret? 

The answer was as simple as the sad numbers that lit his fire when he sought out to start ELEVATE in the very beginning – that more than 80% of businesses never sell (they dissolve), and of the less-than-20% that do sell, 75% of those owners exit for less than their company is actually worth. 

Add in the fact that business owners have more than 80% of their total net worth tied up in their company, and what you get is a recipe for tragedy and disaster for owners and their families. 

So, during the early stages and aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, Adam meticulously constructed a “Success Team” of experts to work alongside him, bringing awareness and fiduciary-driven Business Transition Planning advice to owners and CEOs around the country, so that these same growth-minded entrepreneurs can grow the enterprise value of their life’s work, increase their multiples on a relative basis, all while maximizing their net worth.
