Adam D. Koos, CFP®, CMT®, CEPA

Personal

Adam was born in Oberlin, Ohio to Kim and Stephen Koós, during “The Blizzard of ’78.” His mom is the daughter of Irish and German parents, and his dad was born in Györ, Hungary and escaped the country during the communist revolution with his siblings and parents in 1956.

The oldest of four children, Adam was always very ambitious, passionate, giving and generous. Growing up, he would observe the deep relationships his father built with his patients in his optometry practice, and from a very young age, Adam began to envision owning a business someday in which he would make a significant impact in the lives of others.

He moved to Columbus in 1996 to attend college at The Ohio State University, where he met his best friend and bride, Donna. Shortly after graduation, at the 2002 Ohio State vs. m*ch*g*n game, Adam arranged for The Ohio State Marching Band to surround he and his bride-to-be outside St. John’s Arena, where he dropped to a knee and proposed. They were married in June of 2003 and after seven fun, independent, child-free years, they opened up a new chapter in their lives with two amazing boys, Karston & Kamden.

When he’s not being the best father and husband he can be, Adam loves sitting outside, watching thunderstorms come in, or soaking in the very few dry, 70-degree days that central Ohio has to offer. A lifetime “car guy,” he loves taking Karston and Kamden to Columbus Cars & Coffee events throughout the year, an organization he’s been involved in and/or sponsoring for years now.

While we all know time is a scarce commodity, Adam enjoys playing sand volleyball year-round with Donna and their friends, tries to get a game of golf or tennis in a few times each year, and is an extremely passionate football fan. In fact, he has attended more than 130 home Buckeye games since 1995 and has been a relentless supporter of the Cleveland Browns, through thick and thin!
